Cheonan, South Korea – Cheonan City has officially commenced preparations for the highly anticipated '2025 Cheonan UnivCity Festival' with a kick-off meeting and planning committee session held on the 21st at the city hall. The event saw active participation from key representatives of 12 local universities, including student affairs directors and student body presidents, to strategize the festival's operational direction and curate a vibrant program.
Now in its third year, the UnivCity Festival stands as a collaborative effort among Cheonan's 12 universities, designed to foster a stronger bond between the academic and local communities. The festival aims to showcase the rich tapestry of university culture to the city's residents.
Scheduled to take place from May 29th to 30th at Cheonan Citizens' Sports Park, the two-day extravaganza promises a diverse array of activities. Attendees can look forward to engaging with departmental and club promotional booths, indulging in a variety of food truck offerings, and enjoying a lineup of performances, including club showcases, opening ceremonies, and celebratory concerts.
Cheonan Mayor Park Sang-don emphasized the city's commitment to strengthening its partnership with the universities through this festival. "We aim to leverage the UnivCity Festival as a platform to elevate the profile of Cheonan's esteemed universities," Mayor Park stated. "Our ongoing support is dedicated to solidifying Cheonan's position as a premier university city, 'UnivCity Cheonan.'"
The city anticipates that the 2025 UnivCity Festival will not only celebrate the vibrant university culture but also reinforce the symbiotic relationship between the educational institutions and the Cheonan community.
