The Chungnam Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency (CICIPA) is set to inject significant momentum into the regional game industry with the launch of its comprehensive 2025 game development support project. Spearheaded by President Kim Gok-mi and the Chungnam Global Game Center, this year's initiatives mark a notable expansion, with a dedicated focus on nurturing indie game developers alongside established businesses.

A substantial budget of 850 million KRW has been allocated for game development support. This includes 600 million KRW earmarked for brand-new game projects and an additional 250 million KRW to facilitate the enhancement of existing, released games. Eligibility for these grants extends to companies currently based in Chungnam Province or those committed to relocating their headquarters to the region.

In a significant move to cultivate the indie game development scene, CICIPA has announced the completion of the 'Indie Game Park' strategically located near Cheonan-Asan Station. This dedicated space will serve as an incubation hub for aspiring game entrepreneurs. The 'Indie Game Park' will offer rent-free, comfortable development facilities, coupled with monthly financial subsidies to support early-stage development. Furthermore, participants will benefit from a range of invaluable resources, including business development mentoring, designed to guide them through the complexities of launching a successful game venture. Recruitment for the 'Indie Game Park' is slated to begin soon.

Kim Je-gon, Head of CICIPA's Future Industry Division, emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, "We recognize that many talented individuals possess innovative game ideas but face considerable hurdles in bringing them to fruition. This year's support programs are specifically designed to provide these developers with the resources and guidance they need to overcome these challenges and realize their creative visions."
