Intensive discussions held on key regional issues, including city gas supply for Ori Industrial Complex and expansion of commuter bus routes

Mayor Jeon Jae-soo visits BMT Co., Ltd. to inspect production sites, listen to corporate grievances, and reaffirm commitment to regulatory innovation. 

Busan City has stepped up its efforts to directly listen to the voices of the local economic frontlines and devise practical solutions.

The city announced on September 29 that it held the "100-Day Livelihood Accompanying Meeting" at the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities (Busan Vocational Ability Development Center) in Gijang-gun. The meeting was attended by Busan Mayor Jeon Jae-soo and around 20 representatives of tenant companies in the East Busan region (Gijang-gun, Haeundae-gu, and Geumjeong-gu). 

Designed to strengthen the competitiveness and ensure the sustainable growth of Busan’s industrial complexes, the event focused on the East Busan area, which spans 15 industrial complexes over 9.4 million square meters, serving as a vital pillar of the local economy.

During the session, participants intensively discussed pressing operational challenges faced by local businesses. Key agenda items included resolving the city gas supply issues for the Ori Industrial Complex and expanding commuter bus services for industrial zones. The city government and relevant organizations reviewed these issues to explore immediate solutions and support measures.

Prior to the meeting, Mayor Jeon visited BMT Co., Ltd. located in Jeonggwan-eup, Gijang-gun, where he toured the production floor and communicated directly with executives and employees. BMT Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer of core equipment for semiconductors, shipbuilding, and energy, was recently selected as a Busan-style anchor company and is expanding its second plant, contributing significantly to the revitalization of the regional economy. 

"Corporate investment and growth are the driving forces that build Busan's future," Mayor Jeon emphasized. "We will actively reflect feedback from the field to eliminate unnecessary regulations and inconveniences, creating an environment where businesses and the administration can grow together."
