The Paraguayan National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) has announced a call for applications from researchers being sent abroad and foreign/national researchers residing in Paraguay or overseas to participate in a Research and Development (R&D) training program.
The objective of this program is to strengthen research capacities and foster human capital development by supporting short-term research stays at leading international research institutions. This initiative aims to enhance the expertise of Paraguayan researchers and bolster the capabilities of researchers within domestic research institutions. Conacyt anticipates that this training program will serve as a crucial tool for the academic advancement and skill enhancement of Paraguayan researchers.
Conacyt will provide a maximum of 32,779,578 Paraguayan Guaraníes (PYG) per selected research project. Applications must be submitted online through the Science and Technology Council's Research Support System (Sistema de Postulación de Instrumento – SPI). Considering the budgetary situation, two application deadlines have been set for 2025.
The first application deadline was February 28, 2025. The second deadline is June 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM (Paraguay local time). However, the second deadline is subject to change based on the remaining budget. The duration of the training period ranges from a minimum of 15 days to a maximum of 3 months.
Researchers interested in participating must apply through the Conacyt Research Support System website (http://spi.conacyt.gov.py/user). Those without an existing account must register by entering their name, surname, personal email address (which will be the primary means of communication for all scholarship-related matters after SPI registration), and password. After account registration, applicants must complete all required fields in the online application form and attach all necessary documents.
For further information, inquiries can be directed to the email address: estanciasdeinvestigacion@conacyt.gov.py.
