[Global Economic Times] The government held the 10th meeting of the ‘Delivery System and Regional Medical Expert Committee (Chairman Shin Hyun-woong)’ under the Special Committee on Medical Reform at 10 o’clock on October 17, and discussed “measures to strengthen treatment cooperation and networks between medical institutions.” discussed.
At the meeting on this day, opinions were presented that support measures were needed to establish a desirable medical delivery system by strengthening the medical cooperation system that includes secondary hospitals and primary medical institutions, starting with the structural transformation of tertiary general hospitals. A plan was also proposed to evaluate and develop the performance of medical cooperation support policies under the existing emergency medical care system and institutionalize them. We also discussed ways to build a practical and efficient network between medical institutions centered on the region through linkage between projects such as the regional medical innovation pilot project and primary care pilot project.
Noh Yeon-hong, chairman of the medical reform special committee, said, “The structural transformation of tertiary general hospitals is not only about changing the structure of tertiary general hospitals, but also about fostering a balance between secondary hospitals and primary medical institutions by alleviating patient concentration.” He added, “Furthermore, regional medical care “We hope that this will serve as an opportunity to save the lives of people and ultimately lead to the establishment of a desirable medical delivery system,” he said.
