[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES] Vietnamese grapefruit has officially entered the Korean market. As this is the third Vietnamese fruit to land in Korea following dragon fruit and mango, attention is being paid to whether it will be able to capture the tastes of Korean consumers.
According to Vietnamese local media VTV, the export of Vietnamese grapefruit to Korea has recently become possible with approval from Korean authorities. The Korean market is evaluated as a market with very high potential for Vietnamese grapefruit, and is expected to become a new breakthrough in Vietnamese fruit exports.
Mekong River Delta, the main producer of grapefruit in Vietnam
Vietnam's grapefruit cultivation area exceeds 100,000 hectares, and production volume exceeds 900,000 tons, which is very abundant. In particular, the Mekong River Delta region grows grapefruit in a large area of about 32,000 hectares, and records production of about 370,000 tons, establishing itself as the center of grapefruit production in Vietnam.
A variety of grapefruit varieties with high export potential, such as green grapefruit, Nam Loi grapefruit, and Tan Trieu grapefruit, are being produced, and the company is aiming to successfully enter the market by selecting varieties that suit the tastes of Korean consumers.
Korean market, new opportunity for Vietnamese grapefruit
Korean consumers are already gaining great popularity by experiencing the taste of exotic fruits through Vietnamese dragon fruit and mango. Vietnamese grapefruit is also expected to captivate the taste buds of Korean consumers with its unique flavor and diverse nutritional content.
The Vietnamese government is making various efforts to expand grapefruit exports, such as establishing a quality control system and improving logistics systems, and plans to drive the growth of the Vietnamese fruit industry by entering the Korean market.
Future prospects
The entry of Vietnamese grapefruit into the Korean market will be a good opportunity to revitalize agricultural trade between the two countries and provide a variety of fruits to consumers. Attention is being paid to how Vietnamese grapefruit will perform in the Korean market in the future.
