ASUNCIÓN/XALAPA, MEXICO – "Desencarne," a dance-theater piece created by Paraguay's 426 Arts Company, is elevating the status of Paraguayan art through its invitation to the 10th Festival Primate Escénico in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. Following a sold-out premiere in May at LaFust cultural space in Asunción, "Desencarne" is set to captivate Mexican audiences from July 20 to August 2.
"Desencarne": A Sensory Experience Reflecting Human Anguish
Born from the collaboration between Natti Fuster Cascio and Fari, "Desencarne" offers a profound and intimate sensory experience through physical theater and contemporary dance. Inspired by "El cuidador," originally directed by Aldo Valdez, this international version deeply explores the complexities of human relationships, including faith, doubt, and indifference, from a universal perspective. The work makes a strong impression on audiences, particularly by unraveling these themes with a poetic and instinctive gaze.
Natti Fuster choreographed the piece and Fari penned the script, with both also participating as lead performers, demonstrating their deep understanding of and dedication to the work. "Desencarne" is lauded as a ritualistic performing art piece filled with honesty, presence, and complete devotion to art.
Successful Production Team and International Leap
The ambitious production team for this performance includes Emiko Zárate for costume design, Ingrid Sotelo as production assistant, and NFC Producciones for overall production. Dani González captured the vivid moments of the work through photography.
Following its successful premiere in Paraguay, "Desencarne" has opened a new chapter of international touring. This participation in the Mexican festival will be an opportunity for "Desencarne" to showcase the essence of Paraguayan art on an important platform for Latin American performing arts. The work has already proven its artistic merit and popular success in Asunción and is now ready to continue its emotional impact on the international stage. "Desencarne" is more than just a performance; it serves as a crucial cultural ambassador, promoting the power and originality of Paraguayan culture worldwide.
