The South Korean government is racing to bolster its economy by fast-tracking the implementation of next year's budget and expanding financial support for small businesses. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) announced on Tuesday that it would consolidate and announce its 2025 support programs earlier than usual to help businesses weather the ongoing economic downturn.
To provide timely assistance to struggling businesses, the MSS will be releasing detailed information on various support programs, including policy loans, startup support, and research and development initiatives, as early as this month. The ministry aims to expedite the disbursement of funds, especially for programs designed to stimulate domestic consumption and support startups.
"We are taking proactive measures to support our small businesses and startups," said [Name], a spokesperson for the MSS. "By consolidating and announcing our support programs earlier than usual, we hope to provide businesses with the necessary resources to overcome the current economic challenges."
Key Highlights of the MSS's Support Programs:
Early Budget Execution: The MSS plans to execute 100% of the budget for 54 programs, including startup growth technology development and regional specialized industry development, in the first half of next year.
Enhanced Monitoring and Support: The ministry will establish a robust monitoring system to track the execution rate of each program and provide additional support to underperforming projects.
Increased Transparency: The MSS will conduct nationwide workshops and online seminars to improve public understanding of the support programs and encourage active participation from SMEs.
The MSS's efforts are part of the government's broader strategy to revitalize the economy and mitigate the impact of recent economic challenges. By providing timely and targeted support to SMEs, the government aims to foster innovation, create jobs, and strengthen the domestic economy.
