The array of sought-after goods was extensive, ranging from household appliances like refrigerators and washing machines to the latest fashion apparel, perfumes, various beverages, children's toys, delectable chocolates, cutting-edge smartphones, and highly coveted video game consoles. Ciudad del Este lived up to its reputation as a "shopping paradise," offering a diverse selection of products. Crucially, the competitive pricing compared to neighboring countries proved to be a significant draw for the influx of visitors.

This year's Easter break coincided with Brazil's Tiradentes' Day holiday on April 21st, further extending the stay of numerous visitors. The Tri-Border region (Triple Frontera) is currently experiencing an unexpected economic boom, significantly contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.

According to the hotel industry in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, hotel occupancy rates approached 90% during the holiday period. This high figure underscores the strong interest of Brazilian nationals in the Tri-Border region. Beyond shopping, many Brazilian tourists are taking advantage of the opportunity to explore the area's stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage, including the world-renowned Iguazu Falls (Cataratas del Iguazú) and the impressive Itaipu Dam. In recent years, Argentina's economic challenges and currency controls had significantly reduced the number of Argentinians visiting Ciudad del Este. Carolina Méndez, who traveled from Misiones with her family to Ciudad del Este, commented, "Previously, buying a cell phone outside of Argentina was unimaginable. But now, with prices in Argentina becoming more realistic, it's much more beneficial to buy here. Moreover, I missed the vibrant atmosphere and the friendly service of the merchants here."

In response to the increased number of shoppers, the Alto Paraná Police Department has deployed a significant security force in downtown Ciudad del Este. Starting from 10:00 AM, police patrols and checkpoints have been intensified on major commercial arteries such as Adrián Jara Street, Carlos A. López Street, and San Blas Street. Law enforcement is focusing on inspecting tourists' belongings and cracking down on black market vendors and illegal street sellers to ensure a safe and pleasant shopping environment. Additionally, campaigns aimed at preventing pickpocketing and theft are being conducted for tourists.

A representative of the Ciudad del Este Merchants' Association stated, "This Easter holiday is like a refreshing rain for our long-stagnant local economy. The return of Argentine tourists, in particular, is very encouraging. We will continue to strive to create a safe and attractive shopping environment to attract even more visitors in the future."
