New Mural Honors Paraguayan Women's Historical Contributions

A vibrant new mural celebrating the historical contributions of Paraguayan women was unveiled on November 23rd on Palma Street, in front of the National Tourism Secretariat (Senatur) building.
The mural, titled "Kuñangue Ojepytasova Hetãre," features six iconic Paraguayan women who have made significant contributions to their country. Among them are:
Rosa Brítez: Internationally recognized ceramicist
Eda de los Ríos: Playwright and political activist
Josefina Plá: Writer, journalist, and artist
Serafina Dávalos: Teacher, women's rights activist, and Paraguay's first female lawyer
Juana María de Lara: Paraguay's first female hero
Susana Martínez de Pintos: Indigenous leader, farmer, and women's rights activist
This project aims to recognize the historical contributions of Paraguayan women and highlight their roles in culture, education, and politics. Additionally, the mural enhances the city's aesthetics and serves as a cultural touchstone for both local and international visitors.
The initiative was a collaborative effort between CAF, the Ministry of Women, the Kuña Róga Association, the Presidency, and the National Tourism Secretariat. Plans are underway to create more murals honoring additional Paraguayan women.
