GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C) has announced a significant overhaul of its talent development program for 2025, aimed at enhancing organizational competitiveness and securing a stronger foothold in the global market amidst a rapidly evolving business landscape.
A key addition to the program is the 'Pre-PD (Project Director) Course', designed to cultivate field experts and elevate the leadership and project management skills of its top on-site managers. This initiative underscores GS E&C's commitment to nurturing talent from within, ensuring its project directors are equipped to handle the complexities of modern construction projects.
In a move to broaden its employees' horizons, GS E&C will also expand its partnerships with universities, offering both degree and non-degree programs. This initiative will enable employees to stay abreast of the latest industry knowledge and build valuable networks with experts.
Furthermore, GS E&C is placing a strong emphasis on global exposure, introducing and enhancing overseas training programs. The 'GS Beyond Innovation Course' in Silicon Valley will provide executives and leaders with insights into the innovative practices of leading global companies. Additionally, a newly established 'UW Management Course' at the University of Washington will focus on developing future leaders through in-depth lectures on cutting-edge topics such as AI and climate change.
"Our strategy is to invest in our people," stated a GS E&C spokesperson. "By providing diverse educational opportunities, we are not only supporting the growth of our employees but also strengthening our organization as a whole. We are committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders in the construction industry."
This initiative aligns with CEO Huh Yoon-hong's vision of fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Since taking office, he has been a strong advocate for investing in programs that enhance the company's capabilities.
GS E&C's commitment to talent development is not new. Last year, the company introduced four new training programs to enhance the expertise of its field personnel, including a highly successful 'Pre-CM (Construction Manager) Course'. These programs have been instrumental in equipping employees with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.
With these strategic investments in its workforce, GS E&C is positioning itself for sustained growth and success in the competitive global construction market.
