HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Launches Offshore Patrol Vessel for the Philippines

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has successfully launched the first of six offshore patrol vessels ordered by the Philippine Navy, a key partner in K-marine defense.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced that it held a launching ceremony for the 2,400-ton Philippine offshore patrol vessel, the 'RAJAH SULAYMAN,' at its Ulsan headquarters on the 11th. This marks the second export vessel launch this year, following the 'Diego Silang' patrol vessel, the second Philippine patrol vessel, which was launched in March.
The ceremony was attended by approximately 70 officials from both countries, including Philippine Armed Forces Chief of Staff Romeo S. Brawner, Philippine Ambassador to Korea Maria Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega, Philippine Navy Deputy Chief of Staff Edwin E. Amadar, Assistant Secretary for Defense Acquisition and Technology of the Department of National Defense Augusto V. Gaite, and Joo Won-ho, Head of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' Naval & Special Ship Business Unit.
