VILNIUS – Ignitis Group, a leading international energy company, has announced a significant expansion of its renewable energy capabilities with the acquisition of UAB "Nord Wind Park," a pioneering hybrid power plant project located in the Pasvalys region of Lithuania. This strategic move, executed through its subsidiary Ignitis Renewables, underscores the company's commitment to accelerating the energy transition and achieving its ambitious green energy targets.

The acquired project is a state-of-the-art hybrid facility, combining a 200-megawatt (MW) wind farm, a 50 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) farm, and a 20 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) with an 80-megawatt-hour (MWh) capacity. This integrated approach to energy generation and storage is designed to maximize efficiency and grid stability, addressing the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources.

The transaction, expected to be finalized within a week, is contingent upon the successful completion of comprehensive due diligence procedures. Ignitis Renewables will also secure confirmation of the project's grid connection capacity, a critical step in ensuring seamless integration with Lithuania's energy infrastructure. Following these assessments, the company will finalize its development plans for the site.

To safeguard its investment, Ignitis Renewables has incorporated a restitution clause into the agreement, allowing for potential recourse within 90 days of closing should specific, predefined conditions arise.

This acquisition is a pivotal element of Ignitis Group's broader strategy to dramatically expand its green energy portfolio. The company aims to increase its renewable energy capacity from 1.4 gigawatts (GW) in 2024 to between 4 and 5 GW by 2030. This expansion is crucial for Lithuania and the wider Baltic region as they strive to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and enhance energy security.

Ignitis Group has confirmed that this transaction will not impact its Adjusted EBITDA and Investments guidance for the fiscal year 2025, demonstrating the company's robust financial planning and execution. In line with its established communication policy, the company will refrain from further announcements regarding the deal's closure unless unforeseen circumstances necessitate disclosure.
