An "Incheon Consumer Goods Trade Delegation" dispatched to Qingdao, China, has reportedly achieved significant export consultation results, amounting to approximately $3 million.

The Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on April 25th that it had sent the "2025 China Consumer Goods Trade Delegation" to Qingdao from April 22nd to 25th, in collaboration with Incheon Metropolitan City and the KOTRA Incheon Support Office.

The trade delegation comprised 15 consumer goods companies based in Incheon, including Daeeun Global Solutions Co., Ltd., specializing in cosmetics, food products, and daily necessities.

During their visit, the Incheon companies engaged in 105 one-on-one B2B export consultations with buyers from Shandong Province and other major cities in China, actively pursuing export contracts.

A notable aspect of this trade mission was the integration of live commerce marketing utilizing Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok), which garnered significant attention.

Through product showcases and live commerce activities held in conjunction with a "China Market Marketing Strategy Briefing," participating companies gained valuable insights into the latest distribution trends within China. These efforts were also aimed at enhancing practical export outcomes for the Incheon businesses.

Seong Hong-yong, Head of the International Trade Department at the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "We hope that this delegation will enable Incheon-based companies to secure tangible sales channels within the Chinese local market. The Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue to strengthen post-management support, including export consultation assistance, to facilitate the successful entry of our companies into the Chinese market."

Furthermore, the trade delegation undertook site visits to the cross-border e-commerce (콰징 - Kuajing) sales center within the Qingdao Free Trade Zone and other key distribution hubs. They also held meetings with relevant local organizations to discuss potential avenues for cooperation.

"콰징" refers to a reverse direct purchase channel where Chinese consumers buy overseas goods through e-commerce platforms. This method has recently emerged as a strategic export gateway for domestic companies due to tariff benefits and expedited customs clearance procedures. Industry reports indicate that cross-border e-commerce in China has been experiencing substantial growth, driven by increasing demand for high-quality international products and the convenience offered by online shopping. 1  The Chinese government has also been supportive of this channel through various policy initiatives aimed at facilitating international trade. This visit allowed the Incheon delegation to gain firsthand understanding of this burgeoning market segment and its potential for their products.
