Asunción, Paraguay – In a move aimed at bolstering Paraguay's economic development through international partnerships, President Santiago Peña recently engaged in high-level discussions with a delegation from the influential U.S. think tank, the Heritage Foundation. The meeting served as a platform to showcase Paraguay's burgeoning investment landscape and to forge stronger ties for attracting foreign investment.
Central to the discussions was the imperative to refine Paraguay's investment climate, making it more conducive to international businesses. Furthermore, both parties delved into critical areas of international cooperation, including the concerted effort to dismantle criminal networks, curb drug and human trafficking, and fortify cybersecurity defenses.
A significant aspect of the dialogue involved strategies to amplify Paraguay's geopolitical significance on the global stage, while underscoring its unwavering commitment to core values such as freedom, democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
Javier Giménez, Paraguay's Minister of Industry and Commerce, expressed confidence in the Heritage Foundation's capacity to effectively disseminate information about Paraguay's investment prospects to a worldwide audience, given the foundation's expertise in policy advocacy.
Echoing this sentiment, Foreign Minister Rubén Ramírez Lezcano conveyed his anticipation that the collaboration with the Heritage Foundation would play a pivotal role in elevating Paraguay's international profile and facilitating its contributions to addressing pressing global challenges.
This meeting is seen as a vital step in Paraguay's efforts to attract attention from investors in the United States, and across the globe, and to create a firm foundation for economic growth.
