Australian Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman (58) and her country singer husband, Keith Urban (57), have separated after 19 years of marriage, Reuters and The Guardian reported on September 30 (local time).
The news comes from an article filed by South Korea's Yonhap News Agency, indicating the couple’s split was finalized recently.
According to the entertainment news outlet TMZ, Keith Urban left the couple's long-time residence in Nashville, Tennessee, back in June and moved to another local residence. The couple has been living separately ever since.
Despite the separation, the report suggests that Kidman is reportedly desperate to reconcile the relationship. She recently posted a photo of the couple on her Instagram social media account to commemorate their wedding anniversary, showing her continued effort to save the marriage.
This marks the second major separation for Kidman. She was previously married to Hollywood star Tom Cruise in 1990 at the age of 23 before divorcing him in 2001. She met Keith Urban in 2005 at the "G'DAY USA Gala," an Australian cultural event in the United States, and the two remarried in June 2006 after about a year of dating.
Kidman once described her marriage to Tom Cruise as "intoxicating" but called her relationship with Keith Urban "true love" in a 2013 magazine interview. She also revealed that her divorce from Cruise was almost identical to the situation of the English novelist Virginia Woolf, whom she portrayed in The Hours, the film for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress.
The actress has four children. She adopted a daughter, Isabella "Bella" (32), and a son, Connor (30), during her marriage to Tom Cruise. She has two daughters with Keith Urban: Sunday Rose (17) and Faith Margaret (14).
In terms of their professional lives, Kidman recently finished filming the sequel to the movie Practical Magic earlier this month. Urban, meanwhile, has been on tour since May to promote his 11th studio album, High.
