Chungnam Province announced on the 20th that it has selected two individuals as "Chungcheongnam-do Masters" through the Chungcheongnam-do Master Evaluation Committee, recognizing their dedication to developing skilled technologies in industrial fields, fostering junior technicians, and contributing to the local community.
To boost the pride of skilled workers and pass down and develop excellent technologies, the province has been operating the Chungcheongnam-do Master system since 2020. To date, a total of 24 people across 14 fields have been selected, among whom 4 have achieved the milestone of being named Republic of Korea Masters.
This year's master selection was finalized after a first-round document screening, a second-round on-site inspection, and a third-round interview. The province plans to award the Chungcheongnam-do Master certificates to the selected individuals on the 21st.
This year's selectees are Na Young-jong (48, Dangjin) from Hyundai Steel and Choi Jong-seok (51, Cheonan) from Tous les Jours (Touslesjours).
Master Na Young-jong has contributed to process and facility improvements, quality enhancement, and increased productivity. He has elevated the technical competitiveness of the industrial field through continuous technological innovation and the transmission of skilled techniques, while also actively participating in social contribution activities to support industrial and regional development.

The province plans to provide a total of 12 million won in technology encouragement subsidies to the two selected masters over the next three years.
Choi Il-gyo, Director-General of the province's Economic and Trade Bureau, stated, "Masters are more than just individuals earning a living; they are the power sustaining regional industries and an important asset supporting South Korea's competitiveness. We will continue to discover outstanding skilled technicians, support the transfer and succession of technology, and strengthen the foundation for the province's industrial development."
