ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay – Twenty-eight bright young minds from Paraguay are set to travel to the Republic of China (Taiwan) to bolster their expertise in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

During a press conference held yesterday, Wednesday, at the Presidential Palace, Paraguayan government authorities announced a plan to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Taiwan. A key component of this collaboration involves various initiatives aimed at promoting technological development and innovation within Paraguay, including an AI capacity-building program for young Paraguayan talents.

This coming May, the group of 28 Paraguayan youths will journey to Taiwan, a leader in the AI sector, where they will receive in-depth training from local experts.

Meanwhile, Jorge Duarte, President of the Paraguay-Taiwan Technological University (UPTP), also announced plans for the establishment of a technology business incubator within Paraguay. This initiative is a significant part of the digital district development plan being spearheaded by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC).

President Duarte emphasized the vision of Paraguay becoming a central hub for AI development in South America, leveraging Taiwan's technological prowess and support.
