Chungcheongnam-do Fire Headquarters announced on the 31st that it had selected six '119 Dispatch Kings' who responded to the most fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical service calls and spent the longest time on-site last year. They were awarded the Governor's Commendation.
The '119 Dispatch King' system was introduced by the Fire Headquarters in 2021 to boost the morale and encourage field personnel.
The award recipients in the fire suppression category this year are Firefighter Kim Tae-won from Asan Fire Station and Firefighter Jeong Cheol-ho from the 119 Special Response Team.
Firefighter Kim recorded the highest number of dispatches last year, responding to a total of 246 fire incidents, while Firefighter Jeong dedicated 174 hours to saving the lives of citizens at fire scenes.
In the rescue category, Fire Lieutenant Yeom Yeon-jung and Fire Captain Kang Seok-rae, both from Asan Fire Station, were recognized for the highest number of dispatches (491) and the longest on-site activity time (275 hours) respectively.
In the emergency medical service category, Firefighter Lim In-seop from Cheonan Seobuk Fire Station and Firefighter Kim Min-gu were selected for the highest number of dispatches (1246) and the longest on-site activity time (812 hours) respectively.
Fire Chief Seong Ho-seon expressed his gratitude to the personnel who did their best in field activities for the citizens and said, "I hope that you will use the experience gained from numerous dispatches and long hours of on-site work to become the foundation for a safer Chungcheongnam-do."
