[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES]  The South Chungcheong Office of Education recorded the highest number of medals ever by winning a total of 106 medals (comprehensive score of 16,310 points), including 30 gold medals, 30 silver medals, and 46 bronze medals, at the 105th National Sports Festival held in South Gyeongsang Province. It was revealed that Chungcheongnam-do contributed greatly to achieving 5th place overall.

The Chungnam High School athletes participated in this National Sports Festival with the goal of winning 90 medals and ranking 7th overall, but they performed better than expected and won the most medals ever. Chungnam Sports High School won a total of 42 medals (6 gold, 14 silver, 22 bronze). By winning a medal, the Chungnam Office of Education team greatly contributed to exceeding its goal.

In canoeing, they swept a total of 8 medals (4 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze), contributing to Chungnam Canoe winning the overall championship in a single event for 10 consecutive years. Asang High School Hockey won a gold medal and won 8 consecutive championships, and won 21 medals in weightlifting. They swept a total of 8 medals (4 gold, 9 silver, 8 bronze) and 8 medals (1 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze) in track and field.

In addition, Cheonan High School volleyball advanced to the finals for three consecutive years, overcoming the pain of last year's runner-up and regaining the championship the year before last, once again showing that it is the best in the country. Athletes who have won multiple awards include three-gold winner Cho Jae-hoon (Onyang High School) in weightlifting, two-gold winner Seol Dong-woo (Buyeo High School) in canoeing, Na Ju-young (Cheonan Wolbon High School) in squash, and Yu-ri Choi (Seosan High School) in air pistol.

The Chungnam Office of Education athletes once again demonstrated the power of Chungnam school sports by winning the most medals ever, and these results are largely thanks to the Office of Education's active budget support for school sports teams, operation of a systematic linkage training system, and training facility improvement projects. You can do it. In addition, support from the Chungcheongnam-do Sports Council and sports conditioning support from the Chungnam Sports Science Center also contributed to improving performance.

In the future, the South Chungcheong Office of Education will continue to support the growth and development of student athletes by ▲ modernizing equipment support project ▲ holding a sports talent selection contest ▲ discovering aspiring sports players by supporting the activation of autonomous sports in 2 sports per student ▲ sports aptitude test ▲ supporting low-income student athletes, etc. He announced that he would continue to pursue the policy.

Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol said, “We worked together with the student-athletes and did our best to achieve good results. We are grateful for the hard work of the student-athletes and leaders, and we will not spare any support in the future to help the student-athletes realize their dreams.”
