NEW YORK — President Donald Trump has revealed that the U.S. military deployed a clandestine weapon dubbed the "Discombobulator" during the high-stakes operation to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
In an exclusive interview with the New York Post published on the 24th (local time), President Trump credited the success of the mission to this previously undisclosed technology. While he declined to provide technical specifications due to military secrecy, he offered a vivid description of its effectiveness on the battlefield.
Neutralizing Enemy Defenses
According to the President, the weapon rendered Venezuela’s defensive capabilities completely useless. "They had Russian and Chinese rockets ready to fire," Trump stated. "They were at full readiness and pressed the buttons, but nothing worked. We went in, and their equipment was neutralized."
Military analysts suggest that the "Discombobulator" is likely a sophisticated electronic warfare (EW) tool designed to disrupt air defense and radar systems. This aligns with reports from Maduro’s security detail; one guard reportedly testified that all radar systems abruptly froze during the raid.
The "Sonic" Impact on Personnel
While the weapon's primary role was electronic disruption, witness accounts suggest it may also have a biological or psychological component. Testimonies gathered by the New York Post describe a harrowing experience for those on the ground:
Acoustic Effects: Witnesses reported hearing a sound like a "powerful sonic wave."
Physical Trauma: One witness described a sensation of their "head exploding from the inside," followed by severe nosebleeds and incapacitation among the troops.
A Strategic Victory
The operation, conducted earlier this month, has been hailed as a masterpiece of modern warfare. Despite Maduro’s residence being located within Venezuela’s largest military base, U.S. forces completed the mission in just five hours without a single casualty.
Beyond the military victory, President Trump emphasized the economic shift following the capture. He confirmed that the U.S. has seized control of seven sanctioned tankers and is redirecting Venezuelan crude oil to refineries in Texas and Houston.
"Venezuela no longer has the oil; we have it. We are running the operations now," Trump declared. He added that while the U.S. and major oil corporations will take a significant share, the revived production will eventually result in "more money for Venezuela than ever before."
