From Major Events like Atlanta Jazz Festival and MomoCon to Local Art Festivals, a Wide Array of Fun Activities Await

This weekend, the Atlanta metropolitan area and North Georgia region in the U.S. state of Georgia are set to be vibrant with a diverse range of events. Especially, the highly popular annual 'MomoCon' and the free 'Atlanta Jazz Festival' will welcome visitors, alongside Memorial Day commemorative events and a variety of art festivals, musical performances, and other programs prepared for all ages to enjoy.

Major Conventions and Festivals: 'MomoCon' and 'Atlanta Jazz Festival'

One of the biggest anticipated events this weekend is 'MomoCon'. Held from May 22nd to 25th at the Georgia World Congress Center, MomoCon is a fan convention featuring cosplay, a massive exhibition hall, and participation from famous voice actors, designers, writers, comic artists, and game developers. A wide array of programs are available, including the Anime Rap Takeover Tour (with Cam Steady, GameboyJones, Shofu, etc.), various game tournaments (PC, console, VR, tabletop), cosplay contests and fan showcases, and K-POP Dance Battles. Ticket prices start from $50.

Additionally, one of the largest free jazz festivals in the U.S., the 'Atlanta Jazz Festival', will take place from May 24th to 26th at Piedmont Park. Performances by both local artists and international jazz masters are scheduled. On the 24th, Khari Cabral, Aneesa Strings, Takuya Kuroda, Marsha Ambrosius, and Derrick Hodge will perform. On the 25th, Kenny Banks Jr., Jarrod Lawson, Ravi Coltrane, Andromeda Turre, and Russell Gunn & Blackhawk Quartet will take the stage. On the 26th, Brandon Woody, Tyreek McDole, Charles McPherson, Dianne Reeves, and The Joe Gransden Big Band are set to perform. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy high-quality jazz performances in a beautiful park with family and friends.

Commemorative Events and Local Festivals: A Harmony of Art and Relaxation

In observance of Memorial Day weekend, Stone Mountain Park will host special commemorative events from May 23rd to 26th. The park will transform into Atlanta's largest Memorial Weekend event venue, honoring soldiers and their families with moving performances by the Air National Guard Band, along with a new drone and fireworks drone show, and spectacular fireworks lighting up the night sky. Admission tickets must be purchased separately.

Festivals for art lovers will also be held in various locations. In Alpharetta, the 'Alpharetta Arts Streetfest' will take place from May 24th to 25th at The Grove in Wills Park. Over 100 artists from across the United States will showcase works in various mediums, including painting, sculpture, jewelry, and pottery. Visitors can meet artists directly, admire, and purchase their works. Food and beverage stalls will also be available.

In Blue Ridge, the 'Blue Ridge Spring Arts in the Park' will be held at Downtown City Park during Memorial Day weekend, from May 24th to 25th. This festival, boasting 49 years of history, attracts over 20,000 visitors annually with works by more than 200 juried artists, handicrafts, food vendors, and engaging artist demonstrations. Admission is $5 for adults, and free for children under 12.

Blairsville will also host the 'Spring Arts, Crafts & Music Festival' in Downtown Blairsville from May 24th to 25th. It will feature local art and crafts, with live music performances throughout the weekend in and around the square. A parade is also scheduled for the 24th at 10 AM, and admission is free.
