CHI University, a world-renowned institution for veterinary traditional Chinese medicine education, has prepared a summer special program for veterinary students to broadly experience Integrative Veterinary Medicine (IVM), drawing significant attention. In particular, Korean veterinary students can also participate in this program, which is expected to become a platform for international veterinary education exchange.
CHI University is a highly regarded educational institution for its Certified Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) program. Established in 1998 by Professor Huisheng Xie of the University of Florida, it has rapidly grown based on its systematic education system and clinical-focused curriculum, evolving into a global institution with campuses in 26 countries worldwide.
The upcoming IVM summer special program will be held for two weeks, from August 3rd to 16th, at the CHI University main campus in Florida, USA. Esteemed faculty members, including founder Professor Huisheng Xie and world-renowned scholar in veterinary medicine Dr. Mushtaq Memon, will participate as lecturers. Participating students will have the opportunity to acquire theoretical and practical integrative veterinary medical knowledge and skills through CHI University lectures, as well as clinical practice and field trips at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, Jing Tang Herbal (a traditional Chinese medicine company), and local major animal hospitals.
This program offers veterinary students a valuable opportunity to learn in-depth the latest knowledge and techniques of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), including acupuncture, herbal medicine, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, chiropractic, and nutrition, and to directly experience the advanced veterinary education system of the United States. Furthermore, diverse American cultural experiences, such as a visit to the NASA Kennedy Space Center, are planned outside of the educational curriculum, which is expected to broaden the international perspectives of the participating students.
The Korean branch of CHI University stated, "This summer program is a special opportunity for students to learn about various aspects of Integrative Veterinary Medicine (IVM) and experience actual clinical settings." They emphasized, "Through high-quality lectures with world-renowned experts and practical clinical training, students will be able to gain an in-depth understanding of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and acquire practical skills."
Detailed information about the program can be found on the official CHI University website, and additional inquiries can be directed to 'VIP Animal Traditional Chinese Medicine & Rehabilitation Center by Dr. Shin Sa-kyung (02-6952-7524)'. This summer special program is expected to play a significant role in fostering talent that will contribute to the future development of veterinary medicine and in raising awareness of the importance of integrative veterinary medicine.
