Singapore – The Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC) recently welcomed Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury to Singapore, showcasing its significant contributions to airline training in Asia and its commitment to sustainability.

Greeted by AATC General Manager Silvia Mello, CEO Faury toured the AATC's Full Flight Simulator (FFS) hall, expressing deep impressioin with the facility's scale and state-of-the-art technology. This visit reaffirmed AATC's pivotal role in training and supporting airline partners across Asia.

CEO Faury commended AATC's successful operations, highlighting the Asia-Pacific region as a crucial growth driver for the global aviation industry. He stated, "AATC serves as a vital pillar in Airbus's global training network, providing essential training solutions to enable regional airlines to operate safely and efficiently." He also praised AATC's contribution to developing regional aviation personnel, citing it as a prime example of Airbus's customer-centric management philosophy.

AATC's Sustainability Initiatives and Airbus's Eco-Friendly Management

During the visit, AATC's sustainability initiatives were also a key topic of discussion. AATC is continuously working to maximize energy efficiency and reduce its carbon footprint through the integration of solar power generation and the implementation of the latest cooling management systems. Silvia Mello, General Manager, explained, "AATC is more than just a training center; it's where Airbus's vision for a sustainable aviation future is put into practice," emphasizing that its environmentally friendly operating policies align with Airbus's broader commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.

Airbus headquarters is also accelerating the development of eco-friendly aviation technologies. Airbus aims to achieve carbon-neutral aviation by 2050 through initiatives such as the development of hydrogen-powered aircraft, increased use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and aircraft lightweighting and efficiency improvements. These company-wide efforts by Airbus are closely linked to AATC's sustainability initiatives, contributing to accelerating the overall aviation industry's transition towards environmental friendliness.

Introduction to Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC): Asia's Largest Aviation Training Hub

Established in 2015 and located in Singapore's Seletar Aerospace Park, the Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC) has become a leading aviation training facility within the Airbus flight training network. Spanning 9,200 square meters, the center boasts nine Full Flight Simulators (FFS), including simulators for the A320, A330, A350, A380, and ATR 72-600 aircraft types.

AATC operates the most A350 FFS globally and holds the title of the largest training facility within the Airbus training network. This reflects the high demand for the A350 aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region and the urgent need to train skilled pilots for this aircraft type. Through its cutting-edge simulators, AATC provides pilots with training experiences that closely resemble real flight environments, significantly contributing to improving emergency response capabilities and piloting skills.

Beyond just simulator training, AATC offers comprehensive educational programs, including classroom instruction, technical training, and emergency procedure drills. Trainees receive instruction according to Airbus's latest training manuals and programs, which plays a crucial role in maintaining consistent training standards for Airbus aircraft pilots worldwide. AATC is recognized as an essential partner for the growth and safety of the Asia-Pacific aviation industry by providing customized training solutions tailored to the specific needs of regional airlines.

CEO Guillaume Faury's visit underscored AATC's strategic importance and Airbus's strong commitment to aviation training and sustainability. AATC is expected to continue growing alongside the Asian aviation market and contribute to the development of the regional aviation industry.
