Asunción, Paraguay – A new milestone has been set in Paraguay's technological innovation sector. Rocío Vázquez and Crista Yudis have graduated from the Latin American Artificial Intelligence University (IAU), earning the title of Paraguay's first female artificial intelligence (AI) experts. Their graduation not only highlights the achievements of IAU, a pioneering institution specializing in nurturing AI talent in Latin America, but also serves as a testament to the increasingly vital role of women in the tech field.

Two Pioneers Driving Innovation

Rocío Vázquez is a co-director of Publia, Paraguay's first AI-powered agency specializing in business process optimization. She focuses on leveraging AI to boost corporate productivity and maximize efficiency. Vázquez stated, "We want to show that Paraguay can also innovate, program, and create. Our challenge now is to let everyone know that local talent possesses capabilities on par with international experts." Publia is currently assisting Paraguayan companies in improving productivity through process automation, predictive analytics, and data-driven decision-making models. Vázquez highlighted "optimizing time across various functions" as one of their key benefits.

Meanwhile, Crista Yudis is the Marketing Director for the Asismed Group, a leading private healthcare provider in Paraguay. Leveraging the AI knowledge gained at IAU, she is revolutionizing the marketing department's operations and strategically utilizing AI in campaign and strategy development. Yudis emphasized, "Technology knows no borders, and today, technology is a crucial ally in making more accurate decisions. This applies to all fields, and those who understand this will be a step ahead." Asismed is maximizing marketing efficiency and strengthening its data analysis capabilities for personalized customer service through the adoption of AI.

The Role of the Latin American Artificial Intelligence University (IAU)

The Latin American Artificial Intelligence University (IAU), which has produced these two female experts, holds a unique position in AI education. IAU is characterized by its practical methodology, expert mentorship, and project-based learning. This approach is designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. IAU's goal is to cultivate experts who can lead digital transformation in their respective countries and industries.

IAU plays a crucial role in addressing the shortage of AI talent in the Latin American region and ensuring that the region does not fall behind in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In particular, it focuses on applying AI to solve real-world problems, educating graduates to be immediately deployable in industrial settings.

Growth of Paraguay's AI Ecosystem and the Role of Women

The graduation of Vázquez and Yudis is an encouraging sign of the growth potential within Paraguay's AI ecosystem. Their success stories are expected to inspire other young people, especially women, to develop an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields and to pursue careers as AI experts.

The Paraguayan government and private sector have been increasing their investments in technology education and innovation in recent years. These efforts are essential for nurturing domestic talent in advanced technology fields like AI and strengthening national competitiveness. The achievements of Vázquez and Yudis are concrete proof that these investments and efforts are beginning to bear fruit.

AI technology already holds the potential to drive innovation in various sectors of the Paraguayan economy, such as agriculture, finance, healthcare, and education. The contributions of these two pioneers are expected to play a significant role in helping Paraguay secure new growth engines through AI and achieve sustainable development.
