Hwanggeumsan Art Platform is promoting the 'Gwangtan Dongdong (動洞) – Beyond Hyeumnyeong 2' project, which aims to transform Paju's Gwangtan-myeon into a multicultural art hub. This initiative is part of the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation's 'Museum Without a Roof' (Gyeonggi Ecomuseum) support program. Based on Gwangtan-myeon's historical and geographical assets, this project seeks to create a cultural hub by integrating local daily life with art. In particular, centered around Gwangtan Art Space, local artists, industrial complexes, and migrant workers from industrial zones will collaborate to explore community recovery through culture and arts and the social role of local culture.

This project, running for five months from June to October, offers a variety of cultural and artistic programs. The 'Yomojomo Gwangtan Workshop' series includes experiences such as drawing village landscapes (June 21, 28), creating three-dimensional figures (July 5, 12), and silk-screen printing (August 30, September 6). The 'Gatgachi Dongdong Seminar' will provide a venue for multicultural exchange through activities like traditional food making (July 19) and world traditional culture play experiences (August 2, 9). Additionally, the 'Permaculture and Lifestyle Culture Lecture' (August 16, 23) will showcase making natural soap and shampoo using wild grasses, promoting coexistence with nature.

All programs will be held at 'Design Cello' in Gwangtan-myeon, Paju-si. A results exhibition, sharing the project's achievements, is scheduled to take place from October 25 to 31 at Gwangtan Art Space. An official from Hwanggeumsan Art Platform stated that this project "captures the process of recovering local communities through art," adding that "people from diverse cultural backgrounds will share their senses and experiences, expanding Paju Gwangtan-myeon into a 'museum without a roof'." Supported by Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, this project is expected to inject cultural vitality into the local community and propose a new model for multicultural coexistence.
