"Lock the Door!"... Hamas Commander's Cowardly Act Revealed: Sacrificing Subordinates While Prioritizing His Own Life

The horrific underbelly of the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip has been exposed. A shocking document has been discovered, detailing how a Hamas commander abandoned his subordinates to ensure his own safety during a crisis, sending shockwaves. This is considered undeniable proof of Hamas's brutality and the moral decay within its leadership.

Shocking Document Found in Khan Younis European Hospital Underground Tunnel

On June 11th (local time), the Israeli army publicly revealed a Hamas document on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), which was discovered in an underground tunnel beneath the European Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. According to the Israeli army, the document contained an order from Muhammad Albakri, a Hamas company commander, to his subordinates: "Lock the door with a rope and let [the soldiers] die outside" while Hamas members were engaged in fierce combat with Israeli forces. Reportedly, two Hamas fighters outside the door were indeed killed by Israeli forces following this command.

The document also indicates that Hamas members, after receiving Albakri's instructions, escaped into the European Hospital via the tunnel and then fired upon Israeli forces from inside the hospital. The Israeli army released a copy of the document, emphasizing, "This is clear evidence that Hamas uses both the underground and ground levels of the European Hospital as military bases." They fiercely condemned this, stating, "It clearly shows the cowardice of Hamas commanders who hide in underground tunnels while their subordinates are dying."

Hamas Leadership's Cowardice and Human Shield Strategy

The discovery of this document once again demonstrates Hamas's misuse of civilian facilities for military purposes. Under international law, hospitals are protected neutral zones during armed conflict, but Hamas has been criticized for using them as hideouts and attack strongholds. From the outset of the war, the Israeli army has asserted that Hamas has built an extensive tunnel network beneath civilian facilities such as hospitals, schools, and mosques throughout the Gaza Strip, using them as command centers, weapons depots, and rocket launchers.

In particular, the actions of the Hamas company commander revealed in the newly released document further escalate accusations that the Hamas leadership is adopting a strategy of unhesitatingly sacrificing their subordinates and civilians for their own survival. Hamas has consistently faced criticism for constructing combat facilities in densely populated civilian areas and digging tunnels beneath civilian homes or infrastructure to use them as human shields against Israeli attacks. The UN and human rights organizations point out that such actions by Hamas may constitute war crimes in violation of international humanitarian law.

Another Shadow of War: Moral Corruption and Inhumane Acts

This incident is more than just a single commander's cowardice; it is a chilling example of how deeply war can corrupt human morality. In a military organization, commanders bear a grave responsibility for the lives of their subordinates, but Company Commander Albakri pushed his men into deadly danger for his own safety. This act demoralizes soldiers and erodes trust within the organization, potentially having a negative impact on Hamas's internal cohesion.

Furthermore, the fact that the document was found beneath the European Hospital is a stark reminder of how Hamas exploits medical facilities. Even amidst the horrors of war, medical facilities should be the last bastions for saving lives, but Hamas's actions would have posed a severe threat to the hospital's medical operations.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas continues ceaselessly, but the discovery of this document raises crucial questions about the ethical responsibilities of military leaders, alongside the brutal nature of war itself. Further investigation should be conducted into how widespread such inhumane directives are within Hamas. Continuous international oversight and pressure are necessary to prevent such acts from recurring.
