The first broadcast on May 27 was a success, with discounts of up to 52% and customer participation events fueling excitement. Thirty-five carefully selected local small businesses are participating, aiming to strengthen their online distribution competitiveness and lay the groundwork for continuous growth.

Daejeon City is embarking on comprehensive support to strengthen the online distribution competitiveness of local small business owners. In particular, through "Live Daejang," a Daejeon-style live commerce platform, the city is actively promoting market expansion and sales growth by introducing excellent local products to consumers nationwide in real-time. With the successful first broadcast on May 27, Daejeon's small business owners are expected to write new success stories in the online market.

"Live Daejang" Becomes the Online Wings for Daejeon's Small Business Owners

Daejeon City launched "Live Daejang" as a core project of the "2025 Small Business Online Market Expansion Support Project," providing a bridgehead for local small businesses to enter the online market. "Live Daejang" is an abbreviation of "Live Daejeon Jangteo" (Live Daejeon Marketplace), signifying its role as a leader in live commerce that opens up a large market. This platform, which combines real-time video streaming and e-commerce, offers small business owners the opportunity to vividly convey the charm and story of their products and directly communicate with consumers.

Thirty-five carefully selected local small businesses are participating in this project, and each company will sequentially showcase its excellent products nationwide through "Live Daejang." Beyond simple product sales, the focus is on providing diverse information such as the producer's philosophy, product development process, and usage tips, aiming to gain consumer empathy and trust. This is expected to greatly help enhance product value and strengthen brand awareness.

Captivating Consumers with Exceptional Discounts and Participatory Events

"Live Daejang" also offers an attractive shopping experience for consumers. Starting with a luxury towel set broadcast at 11 AM on May 27, kimchi stew meal kits were introduced at 5 PM, garnering significant interest. In particular, a variety of product categories are sold at exceptional discounts of up to 52% every week, actively encouraging actual purchases. Such discount rates serve as an important factor in opening consumers' wallets amidst intensifying competition in the online shopping market.

During broadcasts, beyond simple product introductions, customer-participatory segments such as purchase verification events and "communication king" events are actively run to add an element of fun. Consumers can ask questions through real-time chat and experience two-way interaction by communicating with the broadcast host. These participatory events make consumers more immersed in the broadcast and positively influence their purchasing decisions. In addition, beyond the broadcasts, promotional effects are maximized and consumer satisfaction is enhanced through additional benefits such as special planned exhibitions and discount coupons.

Expanding Sales Channels and Supporting Sustainable Growth

All "Live Daejang" broadcasts are simultaneously streamed on the official website (https://livedaejang.cafe24.com) and Naver Shopping Live channel to increase accessibility. This is to expose products to more potential customers and induce purchases through various channels. Furthermore, by making products available for purchase on the "Live Daejang" platform even after the broadcast ends, consumers are provided with the convenience of purchasing products at any time they desire.

Daejeon City is focusing not only on short-term sales growth through this project but also on laying the groundwork for the sustainable growth of local small businesses. By increasing their understanding of the online distribution environment and transferring live commerce operation know-how, the city is supporting small business owners to build self-reliance and gain the capabilities to enter the online market themselves.

Kwon Kyung-min, Director-General of the Daejeon City Economy Bureau, expressed his anticipation, "We hope 'Live Daejang' will become a platform where Daejeon's excellent small businesses are loved by consumers nationwide and can create new success stories in the online market," and urged citizens to participate, saying, "Your warm interest and active participation will be a great strength for small business owners."

Meanwhile, Daejeon City has increased this year's project budget by 100 million won compared to the previous year, providing more small business owners with participation opportunities. This demonstrates Daejeon City's strong commitment to supporting small businesses. Furthermore, the city plans to expand additional support measures, such as entering permanent promotional halls and linking with professional broadcast-related planned exhibitions through cooperation with SK Stoa, a large e-commerce platform. Through these diverse supports, Daejeon City is expected to play a strong supporting role for local small business owners to grow steadily even in the rapidly changing distribution environment. Attention is being paid to whether "Live Daejang" will become a new driving force for the revitalization of the Daejeon regional economy.
