The Cheonan Institute of Science & Industry Promotion (Director Hwang Kyu-il) is recruiting companies to participate in its ‘On-site Energy Expert Training,’ aimed at strengthening the energy transition competitiveness of local businesses. Aligning with the growing importance of renewable energy utilization in this era, the initiative seeks to foster sustainable growth by providing practical training to energy-intensive companies.

Comprehensive Curriculum and RE100 Focus

Nazareth University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation will operate this training, delivering in-depth knowledge and practical solutions related to energy. The core curriculum includes: analysis of RE100 policies and global trends, electrical characteristics and practical application methods of solar renewable energy, and understanding renewable energy policies and systems, along with establishing effective energy management implementation plans. Crucially, the program aims to enhance understanding of RE100 (100% renewable energy use), which has emerged as a key corporate management keyword, and provide practical information and know-how essential for companies to develop strategies for achieving their RE100 goals. Through this, companies are expected to cultivate their ability to proactively adopt and manage renewable energy, going beyond simple energy conservation.

Program Details and Director's Vision

The training will run for two months, from August 1st to September 30th. Interested companies can apply via the QR code on the promotional material; early application is encouraged as registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The training will be conducted on-site, tailored to each company’s characteristics and needs, minimizing the burden of participation and maximizing efficiency.

Hwang Kyu-il, Director of the Cheonan Institute of Science & Industry Promotion, stated, "Through this 'On-site Energy Expert Training,' we will actively support local companies in securing next-generation competitiveness in energy utilization." He added, "Based on the performance analysis of this training, we will further advance our professional talent nurturing programs to contribute to Cheonan's establishment as a leading eco-friendly energy city." This indicates that the Institute will not only provide training but also focus on long-term infrastructure building and talent development for the regional industry's energy transition.

Global Trends and Local Impact

As global efforts to combat climate change and achieve carbon neutrality accelerate, corporate energy efficiency and transition to renewable energy have become not just options but necessities. International regulations like the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) are particularly pressing companies to undertake energy transitions more vigorously. Domestically, following the government's announcement of the '2050 Carbon Neutrality Scenario,' companies are strengthening their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, making energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy adoption core tasks for corporate survival and growth.

Cheonan, with its concentration of energy-intensive manufacturing companies in sectors like semiconductors, displays, and automotive parts, has an even greater need for such specialized energy training. Through this program, companies can anticipate various positive effects, including energy cost reduction, enhancement of their eco-friendly corporate image, strengthened competitiveness within supply chains, and creation of new business opportunities. Furthermore, the specialized personnel trained through this program are expected to advance corporate energy management systems and become key talents leading the adoption of future eco-friendly energy technologies.

For detailed training content and application inquiries, please contact the Carbon Neutral Eco-Green Center at Nazareth University's Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation (010-5181-2260). This training is poised to be a crucial opportunity for Cheonan-based companies to achieve sustainable growth amidst the rapidly changing energy paradigm.
