Da Nang, Vietnam - Over 1,200 flights, including 577 international ones, are scheduled to land at this popular tourist destination during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tết) holiday, from January 25 to February 2. This influx is expected to bring in an estimated 450,000 visitors, marking a significant 58% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the city's tourism department, an average of 141 flights, including 64 from 15 international air routes, will arrive in Da Nang each day of Tết.

Vietnam Airlines and budget carrier VietJetAir plan to transport visitors from Japan and Korea on direct flights from Narita and Incheon to Da Nang on the first day of the Lunar New Year. Other airlines, including AirAsia, China Airlines, Hong Kong Express, have also booked landing slots at Da Nang International Airport for their flights from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, and Hong Kong.

Da Nang also anticipates welcoming 800 tourists from two cruise ships on the first day of the Lunar New Year. These visitors will have the opportunity to explore popular destinations and experience the unique traditions of the Tết festival.

The city will organize special welcoming ceremonies for the first arrivals on January 31, both by air and sea.

In Hoi An, a captivating art performance program is scheduled for the eve of the Lunar New Year, January 28, at the city park, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display at midnight to usher in the Year of the Snake.

A series of traditional festivals are also planned for Trà Quế vegetable garden – recently recognized as one of the Best Tourism Villages 2024 by the UN World Tourism Organization – and the Kim bồng carpentry village in Cẩm Nam Commune. Additionally, folk games will be held in the Old Quarter from January 29 to February 13.
