Hanwha TotalEnergies Donates ₩910 Million Social Contribution Fund to Seosan City, Expanding Community Co-prosperity and Support for Vulnerable Groups

Hanwha TotalEnergies (CEO Seo Seok-eun) has once again demonstrated its strong commitment to co-prosperity with the local community by donating approximately ₩916.2 million in social contribution funds to Seosan City, Chungcheongnam-do. This donation, announced on May 27th, is part of Hanwha TotalEnergies' ongoing efforts to fulfill its corporate social responsibility and pursue shared growth with the local community.

The donated funds will be used for social contribution activities in 2025, with a particular focus on diverse support programs for vulnerable neighbors in the Seosan area, including low-income individuals, multicultural families, people with disabilities, youth, and elderly living alone. The funds are expected to be distributed through various institutions and organizations such as the Seosan City Volunteer Center, Seosan City Welfare Foundation, Seosan Family Center, Seosan Office of Education, and Daesan-eup Saemaul Leaders' Association, thereby contributing to practical welfare improvement.

The Hanwha TotalEnergies social contribution fund is particularly meaningful because it is raised through the voluntary participation of its employees. Employees contribute 0.5% of their monthly salary, and the company matches the same amount through a 'matching grant' system. This is seen as an exemplary case where both the company and its members practice the value of sharing.

In fact, Hanwha TotalEnergies has consistently engaged in social contribution activities in the Seosan region. The company previously donated ₩667 million in 2023 and ₩770 million in 2024 to Seosan City, with the amount increasing annually to enhance its contribution to the local community. Through these funds, the company has also supported various vehicles for local welfare projects, such as mobile laundry vans, mobile meal service vehicles, and vehicles for people with disabilities. This year, the company plans to provide a mobile laundry drying vehicle worth approximately ₩200 million, which is expected to greatly assist elderly individuals with limited mobility and households with disabilities in handling large laundry items.

An official from Hanwha TotalEnergies stated, "Contributing to the local community through social contribution funds raised by the voluntary participation of our employees makes the meaning of sharing even greater." The official added, "We will continue to actively discover and promote activities that can help where needed in the local community and continuously practice co-prosperity management." This statement reflects the company's vision of pursuing co-prosperity with the community based on Hanwha Group's social contribution philosophy of 'Together, Far.'

In addition to this fund donation, Hanwha TotalEnergies continues to engage in various activities for the development of the Seosan and Daesan regions, including revitalizing the local economy through purchasing local agricultural products, protecting the environment through fish fry releases and coastal cleanup activities, and providing development funds and scholarships for local students. These efforts demonstrate Hanwha TotalEnergies' commitment to social responsibility, which goes beyond mere financial support to organically communicate with the local community and promote sustainable development.
