Seoul, South Korea – Kia Corporation has announced that it achieved its highest annual sales ever in 2024, surpassing the previous record set in 2023. The company sold a total of approximately 3.09 million vehicles globally.

According to Kia's latest sales report, the automaker sold 542,146 vehicles domestically and 2,547,311 units overseas in 2024, marking a combined total of 3,089,457 vehicles. While domestic sales declined by 4.2% compared to 2023, overseas sales grew by 1.0%, resulting in a 0.1% overall increase.

This achievement marks the second consecutive year that Kia has set a new annual sales record since it began selling automobiles in 1962.

The Sportage emerged as the best-selling model globally with 587,717 units sold, followed by the Seltos at 312,246 units and the Sorento at 280,705 units.

In the domestic market, the Sorento topped the sales chart with 94,538 units sold in December. Kia's robust lineup of recreational vehicles (RVs) contributed significantly to the overall sales, with models like the Carnival (82,748 units), Sportage (74,255 units), Seltos (61,897 units), Niro (14,978 units), and EV3 (12,851 units) collectively accounting for 354,627 units.

Passenger cars, including the Ray (48,991 units), K5 (33,837 units), and K8 (32,734 units), also performed well, contributing a total of 143,437 units to the domestic sales.

Overseas, the Sportage remained the most popular model with 513,462 units sold, followed by the Seltos (250,349 units) and K3 (234,320 units).

Buoyed by its strong performance, Kia has set an ambitious sales target of 3,216,200 vehicles for 2025, including 550,000 units in the domestic market, 2,658,000 units overseas, and 8,200 special vehicles. A Kia spokesperson attributed the company's success to increased production and supply, as well as the introduction of competitive new models such as the EV3, K4, and Carnival Hybrid.
