Registration Opens for 2025 Louisiana Residential Contractor Seminar

BATON ROUGE, La. — Registration has opened for the Louisiana Contractor Accreditation Institute's (LCAI) Residential Contractor Seminar. This 10-week course is a cornerstone of the state's nationally recognized construction professional education provider. The LCAI Residential Contractor Seminar is designed to equip contractors with fundamental technical knowledge essential for maximizing business opportunities within the residential construction industry.

The course will be held online via Zoom for two hours every Monday and Wednesday evening, from 6 PM to 8 PM, between June 2nd and August 6th. The registration deadline is May 31st, and the course fee is $350, which includes textbook costs. Those interested in registering can visit the LCAI Residential Contractor page and click the "Apply Now" button.

The Residential Contractor Seminar is one of three programs offered by LCAI, tailored for small and emerging construction businesses. Key topics covered include:

Print reading
Building calculations
Site work, demolition and construction
Foundations, formwork and retaining walls
Concrete and masonry
Wood frame construction
Finishes
Roof structures
Structural loads
Related trades
Special construction and equipment
Safety codes

Since 2016, through a partnership between Louisiana Economic Development (LED), the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors (LSLBC), and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), over 1,600 participants have completed LCAI seminars, meeting the growing demands of the construction industry within the state. Later this year, other contractor accreditation courses are planned, including a Business and Law Seminar scheduled from October 7th to November 13th.
