ASUNCIÓN, PARAGUay – A historic event unfolded at Americana University, a central hub for Paraguay's fashion industry. The Asunción Fashion Talks, an event organized by the Asunción Fashion Week (AFW) team, Paraguay's largest annual fashion event since 2003, was successfully held for the first time at Americana University.

This significant event took place in the Americana University auditorium, bringing together fashion industry experts, creators, and influential figures to share their experiences with students. The Fashion Talks went beyond merely discussing trends, showcasing a forward-looking vision and a firm commitment to professionalizing the local fashion industry.

A Successful Convergence of Industry and Academia

The Asunción Fashion Talks came to fruition through the efforts of Professor Ricardo Samaniego, head of the Fashion Design Department at Americana University. Professor Samaniego emphasized the importance of close collaboration between academia and industry, stating, "We wanted our students to feel like active members of the industry. Spaces like this allow them to be inspired, learn, connect, and plan their future. The trust AFW placed in Americana University for this event is a clear sign that we are nurturing talent that makes a difference."

Beyond Regional Influence: Asunción Fashion Week

Held annually since 2003, Asunción Fashion Week has become one of the most important fashion platforms in South America, extending beyond Paraguay. Designers from various countries, including Paraguay, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, and Colombia, have showcased diverse runways encompassing innovation, culture, and sustainability. This collaboration with Americana University marks a new step towards integrating academia and industry, and is expected to be a significant turning point in the development of Paraguay's fashion industry.

Fashion and Education: A Long-Term Investment

This platform served not only for acquiring knowledge but also as a practical networking opportunity between young talents and established professionals in the industry.

Through the Asunción Fashion Talks, Americana University reaffirmed its strong commitment to education connected with the professional world. By consistently hosting events that open the university's doors, enrich the university experience, and strengthen ties with the cultural and creative industries, Americana University is positioning itself as a crucial hub for the future of Paraguay's fashion industry.
