[Global Economic Times] On the 17th, Provincial Assemblyman Seo Nan-i (Jeonju 9) urged Governor Kim Gwan-young to quickly promote the introduction of artificial intelligence technology into public administration at the 414th extraordinary session of the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Provincial Council.

Rep. Seo said, “Nowadays, we have become a society where ‘daily use of AI’ is immediately realized, and in the future, public administration will see a comprehensive change in the way it works by actively utilizing data analysis and AI technology.” “AI “The key is how much we can reduce the burden of simple repetitive tasks in public affairs and increase work productivity and efficiency,” she argued.

Some local governments, including government ministries, are already pursuing the introduction of administrative AI in earnest. The Ministry of Public Administration and Security has completed preliminary verification work since last year and completed the pilot development of an artificial intelligence administrative support service through collaboration with private companies such as LG and SKT. The Ministry of Science and ICT, which is also the government department in charge of artificial intelligence policy, also completed the development in April last year. By launching the 'AI Strategy Highest Threat Council', the highest level of public-private AI governance, it was announced that a total of KRW 710.2 billion will be invested to spread AI in daily life, industrial sites, and government administration to carry out 69 tasks so that the public can feel the benefits of AI.

Rep. Seo said, “In the case of Gwangju Metropolitan City, program development began early this year and the employee on-duty system was completely abolished last August, with AI replacing civil servants on duty. What humans can benefit from the introduction of technology is that by reducing unnecessary tasks, the time can be utilized elsewhere. “In other words, you will be able to spend time with your family, including taking care of your children, during the time you are on duty, which will ultimately enable you to meet quality of life and work efficiency at the same time,” he said, pushing for the introduction of artificial intelligence technology into the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province administration. insisted that it should be done.

Meanwhile, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province has announced that it has been preparing to introduce artificial intelligence technology into the administration since last year, but is not pursuing a full-scale introduction policy, and securing a budget for building an artificial intelligence server next year is also known to be unclear.
