Set for September 27-28 at San Bernardino Amphitheater… Babasónicos, El Cuarteto de Nos, and More Revealed in Lineup

Paraguay's most beloved music festival, 'Pilsen Reciclarte 2025', is set for a grand return on September 27th and 28th at the José Asunción Flores Amphitheater in San Bernardino. Under the new concept of 'The Nature of Music' (La naturaleza de la música), the festival aims to deliver a profound message about environmental protection and sustainability, resonating deeply within Paraguay's cultural landscape.

Epic Lineup and the Festival's Identity

G5PRO and CERVEPAR have reaffirmed their long-standing partnership through this 'Pilsen Reciclarte', announcing the festival's successful comeback. This edition, in particular, boasts a powerful and diverse lineup, spearheaded by Argentina's legendary rock band Babasónicos and Uruguay's uniquely styled El Cuarteto de Nos.

In addition, Argentina's sharp rock outfit Ratones Paranoicos and the highly anticipated La Beriso will take the stage. Also joining are Las Pastillas del Abuelo, known for fusing rock with folk and other popular genres; El Kuelgue, celebrated for their experimental sound and unique theatricality; Los Cafres, an icon of Latin American reggae; and Cruzando el Charco, who combine various elements like candombe, pop, and funk into rock.

A notable debut in Paraguay is the Colombian project Monsieur Periné. Led by Catalina García and Santiago Prieto, this project promises a unique musical experience, blending jazz, swing, and pop with Latin American sounds such as salsa, cumbia, and bolero.

Among the Paraguayan domestic artists, the two current pillars of local rock, Flou and Salamandra, will headline, joined by top local music pioneers like La de Roberto, Kita Pena, Lanuestra, and Bohemia Urbana. The lineup is further completed by Deficiente, Lucero Sarambi, Sari Carri, Funkchula, Ciudad Mansa, and El Pórtico.

Special performances include the participation of Juan Cancio Barreto, a master guitarist and requintista of Paraguayan music, and Grupo Generación, renowned for their interpretations of Guaranía folk music. This highlights the festival's commitment to embracing modern music trends while honoring and celebrating Paraguay's deep-rooted cultural heritage.

'The Nature of Music' and the Message of Sustainability

'Pilsen Reciclarte' goes beyond simply being a festival of music, art, and gastronomy. This edition embodies the message that "music is not just heard, but felt. And when connected with nature, it becomes a transforming power." It encourages participants to connect with their surroundings and cultivate environmental consciousness within the rhythm of the festival.

The festival carries a firm commitment to sustainability, pursuing responsible practices at all levels. Key elements include waste management, the use of recyclable materials, recycling stations, reduction of plastic consumption, and experiences that invite attendees to enjoy music in harmony with the surrounding environment. This further strengthens the original purpose of environmental protection and recycling, symbolized by the name 'Reciclarte' since its first edition in 2014.

Festival History: The Footsteps and Cultural Significance of 'Reciclarte'

'Pilsen Reciclarte' began in May 2014 as a two-day event headlined by Ciro y los Persas and Jarabe de Palo. At the time, no one could have anticipated the profound legacy this festival would leave on the Paraguayan music scene.

In 2017, the festival re-emerged as a major summer event, establishing its home at the José Asunción Flores Amphitheater in San Bernardino, an iconic cultural landmark in Paraguay. It revitalized this space, which had been forgotten for 20 years, filling it once again with music. Over the years, 'Reciclarte' has become a hub for Paraguayan music, attracting the most outstanding domestic and international artists to this symbolic amphitheater.

Countless bands and artists, including No te Va Gustar, La Vela Puerca, Fito Páez, Café Tacvba, Cuarteto de Nos, Airbag, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Juanes, Divididos, and Molotov, have resonated within these ancient walls, activating this unique cultural space.

In 2022, G5PRO and CERVEPAR decided to open a new chapter for 'Reciclarte' by moving the festival to the Jockey Club. This was aimed at providing a more memorable experience for loyal audiences. However, from 2023, the festival successfully returned to the San Bernardino Amphitheater, renewing its commitment to the local community and strengthening its ties with the place where the festival grew. This was not just a change of venue, but a demonstration of the organizers' intention to preserve the festival's history and identity.

The José Asunción Flores Amphitheater is a living history and symbolic space for Paraguayan music. 'Reciclarte' not only uses it as a venue but also inherits and revitalizes its historical and cultural significance. This injects new vitality into the Paraguayan music scene and fosters cultural pride among the public.

The 'CuidaPy' Movement and the Festival's Social Responsibility

'Reciclarte' is also the festival of the CuidaPy movement, a social initiative dedicated to preserving and beautifying Paraguay. The festival annually renews the magic and mystique of the José Asunción Flores Amphitheater, ensuring that this iconic space continues to be a home for music and art for future generations.

'CuidaPy' means "Let's take care of Paraguay" and promotes various campaigns for environmental protection and sustainable development. 'Pilsen Reciclarte' is one of the largest events of the 'CuidaPy' movement, serving as a model for raising environmental awareness and presenting concrete action plans through the festival itself. For example, encouraging the use of recyclable containers at the festival site, operating separate collection stations, and striving to minimize waste are prime examples of embodying the spirit of 'CuidaPy'.

These social responsibility activities elevate 'Reciclarte' beyond a mere commercial event. The public enjoys music while simultaneously participating in the important social value of environmental protection, which contributes to forming a positive perception of the festival and building a long-term fandom.

Evolution and Future of Paraguayan Music Festivals

'Pilsen Reciclarte' has played a significant role in leading Paraguay's music festival culture. Starting as a relatively small event, it has grown and evolved into an international-level festival that attracts renowned domestic and international artists. This reflects the potential of the Paraguayan music market and the public's cultural thirst, as well as the organizers' continuous efforts and investment.

In recent years, music festivals worldwide have evolved into platforms for cultural experiences, artistic exchange, and social message delivery. 'Reciclarte' is also actively embracing these global trends through its new concept of 'The Nature of Music' and its connection with the 'CuidaPy' movement. This can be interpreted as an effort to meet the demands of modern audiences who value participation, experience, and social value creation beyond mere consumption.

Moving forward, 'Pilsen Reciclarte' has the potential to grow into a leading music festival that influences not only Paraguay but all of Latin America, by further strengthening its core values of sustainability and environmental protection. If innovative planning, a solid lineup, and social responsibility harmoniously combine, 'Reciclarte' will further contribute to elevating Paraguay's cultural standing.
