Seoul, South Korea – Lotte Department Store is bringing the magic of a European Christmas market to Seoul this holiday season. From November 20th to January 5th, the sprawling Christmas market will transform the World Tower lawn in Jamsil into a winter wonderland, offering visitors a festive experience filled with shopping, dining, and entertainment.
This year's market, themed "Wonderful Showtime," is the largest and most elaborate yet, featuring a 22-meter-tall Christmas tree and a carousel, both brought in collaboration with Lotte World Tower. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of festive activities, including ice skating at the Chanel Ice Rink, located adjacent to the market.
The market boasts an expanded area of approximately 2,314 square meters, featuring over 40 unique shops selling everything from handcrafted wooden ornaments and Danish interior design pieces to artisanal teddy bears and delectable treats. Food stalls will offer a range of culinary delights, including German-style sausages, popular bakery items, and the iconic "heart tiramisu."
For families with children, the market offers a variety of toys and gifts, including Lego, Playmobil, and merchandise from the popular comic book series, Tintin.
To enhance the festive atmosphere, the market will host various events and performances throughout the season. Visitors can also enjoy a mesmerizing media show projected onto the World Tower wall, creating a magical backdrop for the market.
"We are thrilled to bring back our Christmas market and make it even bigger and better this year," said a representative from Lotte Department Store. "Our goal is to create a truly immersive Christmas experience that transports visitors to the heart of Europe."
Admission to the Christmas market is 2,000 won, and visitors can purchase a "Fast Pass" for 10,000 won to skip the line. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Songpa District.
Last year, the Lotte Christmas Market drew over 240,000 visitors, making it one of the most popular holiday events in Seoul. With its expanded offerings and enhanced festive atmosphere, this year's market is expected to attract even more visitors.
