LG Electronics Strengthens Competitiveness in the Middle East and Africa TV Market

SEOUL — LG Electronics is stepping up its efforts to strengthen its competitiveness in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) TV market. The move comes as Chinese manufacturers are increasingly making inroads into the region, posing a challenge to established players like LG.

To solidify its position, LG Electronics is focusing on enhancing its product technology and localization strategies. As part of this effort, Jeong Pil-won, head of LG Electronics' MEA region, recently visited Algeria and other Middle Eastern countries to engage with local employees and business partners.

During his visit, Jeong emphasized the importance of open communication and collaboration. He also highlighted LG Electronics' commitment to providing high-quality products and services that meet the needs of local consumers.

LG Electronics has been actively expanding its presence in the MEA region, recognizing its strategic importance. The company has established a strong partnership with Bomar, an Algerian home appliance manufacturer, to leverage its local expertise and distribution network.

However, LG Electronics faces stiff competition from Chinese brands, which have been aggressively targeting the MEA market. TCL, for example, has been promoting its large-screen TVs in North Africa, while Hisense has been focusing on its QD (quantum dot) TVs.

To counter this, LG Electronics is leveraging its technological优势, particularly in AI-powered TVs, to differentiate itself from its competitors. The company is also actively engaging with local communities through various social responsibility initiatives.

LG Electronics' efforts to strengthen its position in the MEA TV market are expected to pay off in the long run. The company's focus on product innovation, localization, and customer engagement will help it maintain its competitive edge in this dynamic market.
