Berlin, Germany – Greece and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) emerged as a focal point of international tourism interest at ITB Berlin 2025, one of the world's leading travel trade shows, held from Tuesday to Thursday. The event has sparked optimism for a significant increase in tourist arrivals from Germany in 2025, signaling a robust recovery and growth for the Greek tourism sector.

Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and GNTO General Secretary Andreas Fiorentinos led the Greek delegation, which showcased the nation's diverse offerings to a global audience. The GNTO's expansive 1,007-square meter pavilion served as a vibrant hub, hosting an impressive delegation of 87 co-exhibitors, including Greek tourism businesses, regional authorities, and municipalities. This significant presence underscored Greece's commitment to attracting international visitors and fostering partnerships within the global tourism industry.

"The response we received at ITB Berlin 2025 was overwhelmingly positive," stated Minister Kefalogianni. "There is a palpable enthusiasm for Greece as a premier travel destination, particularly within the German market. We are confident that this momentum will translate into a substantial increase in tourist flows in 2025."

The projected growth from the German market is particularly noteworthy, with forecasts indicating a double-digit percentage increase in tourist numbers. This surge is attributed to several factors, including Greece's reputation for its rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and warm hospitality. Furthermore, the GNTO's strategic marketing efforts and collaborative initiatives with German travel agencies and tour operators have played a crucial role in driving demand.

"Our goal is to highlight the diverse experiences that Greece offers, from its iconic islands to its historical mainland," emphasized General Secretary Fiorentinos. "We are working closely with our partners to ensure that visitors have access to a wide range of travel options and seamless experiences."

ITB Berlin, known for its role as a platform for networking and deal-making, provided an ideal opportunity for Greek tourism stakeholders to connect with industry professionals from around the world. The event facilitated discussions on sustainable tourism practices, digital innovation, and emerging travel trends, all of which are essential for the long-term growth of the sector.

Furthermore, Greece's focus on diversifying its tourism offerings, including promoting year-round travel and highlighting niche markets such as cultural tourism, gastronomy, and adventure travel, has resonated with German travelers seeking authentic and enriching experiences.

The anticipated surge in German tourism is expected to have a significant economic impact on Greece, creating jobs and boosting revenue for local businesses. As Greece prepares for the 2025 tourism season, the positive outcomes from ITB Berlin 2025 have reinforced its position as a leading global travel destination.
