IGUAZU, Paraguay – Raimundo Yano, President of the United Agricultural Enterprises (UEA), emphasized the importance of cooperation and shared vision for the development of Paraguayan agriculture at the opening ceremony of the innovative agricultural fair, Innovar Feria Agropecuaria, held in Iguazu. He argued that the cooperation and efforts of the entrepreneurs who established the fair led to agricultural development, and Paraguay should follow this cooperative model.

President Yano stressed that Paraguay needs leaders who are committed to meeting the true needs of the nation, including education, health, infrastructure, and security. He cited the establishment of the United Agricultural Enterprises (UEA) as a prime example of cooperation and shared vision, explaining that the companies joined forces to achieve common goals when it was founded in 2017.

"This union demonstrates that significant achievements can be made when patriotism is prioritized over individual interests," said President Yano.

The opening ceremony of the fair was attended by Carlos Giménez, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock; César Landi Torres, Governor; representatives of other government agencies; cooperatives; and some members of Congress.

Role and Importance of United Agricultural Enterprises (UEA)

The United Agricultural Enterprises (UEA) aims to promote the sustainable development of the Paraguayan agricultural sector, enhance the competitiveness of member companies, and contribute to the national economy. UEA plays the following key roles:

Policy Advocacy: Represents the interests of member companies and participates in the development of agricultural policies.
Information Provision: Provides member companies with useful information such as market information, technological trends, and government policies.
Networking and Cooperation: Provides opportunities for cooperation and networking among member companies and promotes joint projects.
Technical Support: Supports member companies' productivity improvement and the adoption of sustainable agricultural technologies.
International Cooperation: Strengthens the international competitiveness of Paraguayan agriculture through cooperation with international agricultural organizations.
Current and Future of Paraguayan Agriculture

Paraguayan agriculture plays a crucial role in the national economy, and the production of soybeans, corn, and beef, in particular, is globally competitive. 1  However, it faces various challenges such as climate change, land degradation, and market volatility. Close cooperation between the government, businesses, and farmers is essential to overcome these challenges and achieve sustainable growth.

President Yano's remarks contain an important message for the Paraguayan agricultural sector to address the challenges it faces and move towards the future. Through cooperation and shared vision, Paraguayan agriculture can further develop and contribute even more significantly to the national economy.
