The 2025 International Korea Beauty Festival (IKBF) is set to open its doors for a magnificent two-day event, bringing together domestic and international beauty professionals to share the present and future of K-Beauty. This grand celebration of the beauty industry will take place from Tuesday, December 2nd, to Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, at the Exhibition Hall on the first floor of the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) Exhibition Hall 2.

A Festival of Skill, Creativity, and Industry

Organized by the Korea National Beauty Association (KNBA) and officially sponsored by Daejeon Metropolitan City, the IKBF marks its third anniversary this year. The festival is comprised of three main components: a major beauty skills competition, a creative works presentation, and a comprehensive beauty exposition.

This year's event is attracting significant attention as it solidifies its position as the premier beauty competition in Asia. The festival will welcome official beauty national teams from five countries—China, Taiwan, Macau, Indonesia, and Vietnam—in addition to approximately 100 international competitors. Over 1,000 beauty professionals and students from related academic departments across South Korea are also participating. They will compete across 80 distinct categories, showcasing a diverse range of skills from classic techniques like volume wave perm to cutting-edge artistic styles.

Global Excellence and Industry Showcase

A major highlight of the festival will be the special performance and hair show presented by the Korean national team, who have achieved an unparalleled feat by winning the overall championship seven consecutive times at the OMC (Organisation Mondiale Coiffure) Hairworld in Paris, France. This showcases the world-class skills and artistry that K-Beauty represents on the global stage.

In addition to the competitions, the event features a large-scale beauty expo with participation from over 150 companies. The exhibition booths will not only feature various hair-related products and technologies but also dedicated zones such as the Nail Zone and the Future-Ro Zone, offering attendees a rich display of the latest products and innovative techniques in the industry. The expo serves as a vital platform for networking, business development, and sharing the newest trends in the rapidly evolving beauty sector.

Daejeon's Vision as a K-Beauty Hub

Mayor Lee Jang-woo of Daejeon expressed his enthusiasm for the event, calling it a meaningful occasion that unites beauty talents from across the country and Asia. He encouraged widespread public attendance, emphasizing that Daejeon is the platform where new beauty technologies will be unveiled.

Furthermore, Mayor Lee articulated an ambitious vision for the future, announcing that the 2026 International Korea Beauty Festival will be integrated with the prestigious OMC Asia Cup Open. This integrated event, scheduled for March 2026, is expected to elevate the festival to the highest level in Asia, serving as a crucial stepping stone for Daejeon to develop into an international K-Beauty central hub city. The OMC Asia Cup Open is one of the world's most recognized beauty competitions, and hosting it will significantly enhance Daejeon's international profile in the global beauty industry.

The 2025 IKBF is more than just a competition; it is a grand festival celebrating talent, innovation, and the vibrant future of K-Beauty, making Daejeon the undisputed focal point of Asian beauty trends.
