Priority Allocation of KTO's Educational Travel Support Programs for Participating Teachers Next Year
To explore solutions for revitalizing educational travel, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), sponsored by the Ministry of Education, are holding the 1st "2026 Educational Travel Development Conference" and are recruiting teachers and travel industry professionals to participate.
Scheduled for November 30 at Seoul Dragon City, this conference was organized to restore the value of educational travel—which has shrunk due to safety concerns and administrative burdens amid a rapidly changing educational environment—and to discover and spread future-oriented educational travel models.
The conference will listen to voices from the educational field and discuss development measures from multiple angles. In Part 1, the Ministry of Education is scheduled to announce support measures for field experiential learning. Part 2 will feature introductions to AI-based educational travel services and KTO's science educational travel contents. In addition, a comprehensive panel discussion between key speakers and the audience will take place.
Practical support benefits will also be provided for participants. Teachers who attend the conference will be given first-come, first-served benefits to be preferentially selected as eligible classes (or up to 30 students) for travel expense support when applying for KTO's educational travel support program next year.
The recruitment target is a total of about 200 educational travel stakeholders, including elementary, middle, and high school teachers and travel industry representatives. Those wishing to participate can apply through the "Accessible Tourism For All" website by the 31st of this month.
Park Jung-woong, Head of the National Tourism Division, stated, "This conference will be a meaningful occasion where teachers in the field, the travel industry, and related organizations gather to share the future vision of educational travel and prepare practical development measures," adding, "We ask for great interest and active participation from educational travel stakeholders."
