LG [003550] is holding business strategy meetings across all of its affiliates starting on the 19th for about a month, intensively reviewing AI-centered future growth strategies and business plans for next year.
In particular, the group is expected to review cooperation outcomes with global big tech companies such as NVIDIA and Microsoft (MS), and discuss concrete action plans to consolidate group-wide capabilities.
According to LG, the upcoming business strategy meetings—chaired by Koo Kwang-mo, CEO of (株)LG—will be attended by chief executive officers (CEOs) and business division heads of each affiliate to focus on this year's business performance and next year's operational plans.
The business strategy meetings will run for about a month, starting with electronics affiliates such as LG Electronics, LG Display, and LG Innotek, followed by chemical affiliates like LG Energy Solution and LG Chem, and telecommunications and service affiliates including LG Uplus and LG CNS.
Previously, to refine its business portfolio this year, LG selected core agenda items on a quarterly basis during president-level meetings, continuously monitoring business competitiveness and future readiness.
In March, the key agenda was the execution capability of AI Transformation (AX); in June, "Winning R&D"; and in September, the advancement of investment strategies. During last month's meeting, the group examined investment outcomes and strategies focusing on core areas such as AI factories, physical AI, and AX.
At the time, Chairman Koo urged, "The presidential leadership must secure rapid speed and tenacious execution so that we can win in the future battlegrounds of AI."
Based on these discussions, the upcoming business strategy meetings are anticipated to broadly discuss affiliate-specific strategies and concrete action plans to secure new business opportunities in future growth sectors, including AI.
Follow-up strategies to connect business cooperation with global big tech giants such as NVIDIA and MS into concrete achievements are also expected to be major agenda items.
This year, LG materialized its cooperation with NVIDIA in the fields of AI factories, physical AI, and mobility, and decided to expand the scope of cooperation with MS across overall AI infrastructure.
LG plans to maximize its performance in core future AI battlegrounds through the "One LG" strategy, consolidating the entire group's capabilities beyond cooperation at the individual affiliate level.
