Cosmax announced on the 17th that it has obtained approval for a non-notified main ingredient for 'White Plusome', a functional ingredient that greatly enhances whitening effect.
Non-notified ingredients are exclusive ingredients that cosmetic companies have researched and developed themselves, and have proven their efficacy and safety, in addition to the main ingredients and contents notified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
'White Plusome', developed by Cosmax, is a component that utilizes 'Plussome', a plant-based cationic skin delivery technology.
Plussome helps effective ingredients to be better absorbed into the skin by using the attractive force acting between the skin and the delivery system of cosmetic active ingredients. It is also a technology that has been recognized for its innovation by achieving 5 crowns at domestic and overseas awards ceremonies, including the Jang Young-sil Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Korea Engineering Award, and the Prime Minister's Commendation in the New Technology Commercialization Promotion category of the Industrial Technology Promotion Merit.
Cosmax applied niacinamide, a whitening functional ingredient, to Plussome. It has been confirmed that White Plusome, made in this way, has a 45 times higher transmittance of efficacy ingredients in artificial skin tests compared to the control group. The company explained that it had superior skin brightening and blemish improvement effects compared to anion transporters containing the same ingredient.
Cosmax plans to introduce products with White Plusome as the main ingredient to domestic and overseas customers.
Cosmax is continuing its research on functional ingredients to develop differentiated exclusive ingredients. Last year, it obtained approval for three types of non-notified ingredients with acne relief function, including 'Totalactin', and also received new approvals for soybean embryo extract (SoyAct) and Ganoderma lucidum extract (Ganoxyl), which are non-notified ingredients with hair loss relief function.
