Agricultural Technology Center to share achievements and more at the '2026 Rice Farming Comprehensive Evaluation Meeting' on the 30th

Sejong Special Self-Governing City's Agricultural Technology Center announced that it will hold the '2026 Rice Farming Comprehensive Evaluation Meeting' for rice-farming producers on the 30th at the Agricultural Technology Center's education hall and the in the area of Sojeong-myeon.

This event is designed to comprehensively evaluate the outcomes of rice farming promotion in 2026, share on-site bottlenecks and best practices, and establish the direction for technology dissemination in rice farming for 2027.

The evaluation meeting will proceed in the following order: ▲ Comprehensive evaluation of 2026 rice farming, ▲ Theoretical education on direct seeding of rice, and ▲ Field education on direct seeding.

In the morning, at Lecture Room 2 of the Agricultural Technology Center's education hall, this year's rice growth and crop conditions, pest outbreaks, and cultivation management will be comprehensively evaluated, and key achievements and difficulties encountered during the farming process will be shared with farmers.

Following this, an external lecturer will be invited to conduct core technical training on direct seeding of rice.

The training will focus on key technologies required for direct seeding, such as seeding and early growth management, weed and pest management, etc., with the plan to enhance farmers' on-site response capabilities.

After the education, participants will move to Sojeong-myeon to conduct on-site training directly inspecting the direct-seeding pilot project fields.

Education linking theory and the field will take place by checking the growth status and cultivation management cases of direct seeding, and sharing farms' actual experiences and bottlenecks.

In addition, by actively gathering on-site opinions from farmers, the center plans to establish directions for expanding direct seeding of rice and on-site technical guidance to produce high-quality rice and reduce labor force for 2027.

Pi Ok-ja, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "This comprehensive evaluation meeting is a communication venue to look back on a year of rice farming and share on-site experiences and technologies," adding, "Based on farmers' voices, we will promote practical cultivation technologies that can be experienced in the field, and respond to the rural labor shortage problem through the expansion of direct seeding of rice."
