Dallas, TX – Korean contemporary artist Haegue Yang is making her US debut with a major solo exhibition at the renowned Nasher Sculpture Center. Entitled "Haegue Yang: Lost Lands and Sunken Fields," the exhibition will run from February 1 to April 27, 2025.

Known for her innovative approach to sculpture, Yang has been blending everyday objects with traditional elements for over three decades, challenging modernist notions of the medium. This exhibition, curated by Leigh Arnold, features over 50 works, including both existing pieces and new creations. The works, which range from small-scale sculptures to large-scale installations, will be dispersed throughout the museum, creating an immersive experience for visitors.

One of the standout works in the exhibition is "Airborne Paper Creatures – Swimmers," a complex assemblage of materials that includes birch plywood, hanji (Korean traditional paper), and various found objects. This work, like many of Yang's, is characterized by its intricate details and playful use of materials.

Jed Morse, Interim Director and Chief Curator of the Nasher Sculpture Center, commented, "Haegue Yang's work offers a profound and poetic exploration of our complex world. Her ability to connect the past and present through her art provides us with new insights into our lives."

The exhibition is supported by Howard and Cindy Rachofsky, renowned Dallas-based collectors, and the Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District. To coincide with the exhibition, a fully illustrated catalogue will be published, offering a comprehensive look at Yang's artistic journey.
