Seattle, WA – Veteran South Korean defender Kim Ki-hee is making a return to Major League Soccer (MLS), signing with the Seattle Sounders FC. The move was officially announced by the club on [date].

Kim, who previously played for the Sounders from 2018 to 2019, was a key contributor to the team's 2019 MLS Cup victory. His return to Seattle will provide a boost to the team's defensive line, adding valuable experience and leadership.

"We are thrilled to welcome Ki-hee back to Seattle," said Sounders general manager Craig Waibel. "A player of his caliber brings a wealth of experience and leadership to our squad."

Before joining the Sounders, Kim had a successful career in the K League, playing for teams such as Daegu FC, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, and Ulsan Hyundai. He was also a regular member of the South Korean national team, representing his country in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.

Following his stint in Seattle, Kim moved to China to play for Shanghai Shenhua before returning to South Korea to join Ulsan Hyundai in 2020. With Ulsan, he won multiple K League titles and the AFC Champions League.

Despite being in his mid-30s, Kim continues to be one of the top defenders in Asia. His return to MLS is expected to have a positive impact on the Sounders, as they look to build on their recent success.
