"Become a Scottish Castle Owner for $1 Million? The Story Behind Kinloch Castle"

A historic mansion in Scotland has made headlines for being priced at approximately £700,000 (about 1.3 billion KRW), a price comparable to the average cost of an apartment in Seoul or a tiny studio in central London.

According to the Daily Mail, Kinloch Castle, located on the Isle of Rum, is now on the market. The estate spans roughly 30,000 square meters and features 20 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, and 7 living rooms. The interior is a treasure trove of 19th-century art, featuring a ballroom, a library, and even a billiards room.

However, there is a catch behind this seemingly "bargain" price. Real estate experts estimate that at least £10 million (approx. 19.7 billion KRW) is required for essential restoration work to make the castle habitable or functional as a hotel. Additionally, the Isle of Rum is only accessible by boat, posing significant logistical challenges for potential owners.
