HA NAM – Ha Nam City is set to become the epicenter of global K-Pop dance culture as it hosts the "2025 Global K-Pop Dance Challenge in Ha Nam," gathering an impressive lineup of top international K-Pop dance influencers. Scheduled to run from October 21 to 23, the event aims to firmly establish Ha Nam's reputation as a future global cultural hub, aligning with the city's ambitious 'K-Star World' project.

The Ha Nam Cultural Foundation, the event's organizer, announced on the 16th that it has invited twenty teams of prominent K-Pop influencers from around the world, including viral sensations from Australia and Ukraine, to participate in the three-day challenge and performance series.

City Transformed into a K-Pop Stage

The preliminary events on October 21 and 22 will see the city’s scenic spots, such as the Misa Rowing Park, Dangjeong Stream area, and Union Tower, transformed into vibrant K-Pop stages. These open-air performances will provide a dynamic backdrop for the influencers to showcase their skills, engaging both local residents and visitors.

The main event, the 'Dance Performance Concert,' will take place on October 23 at 7:30 PM at the Ha Nam Arts Center Grand Theater. This highly anticipated concert will feature a spectacular dance competition among the invited teams. The lineup boasts 'world-class' social media stars, including Ukraine’s Ten Yujin (with 23.16 million followers) and Australia’s Kanna Kaye Balanae (with 18.36 million followers).

The concert will be hosted by popular TV personality Christian Burgos, known for his witty and engaging style. The evening will also include special guest performances by the renowned artists Lee Chan-Jae and Ahn Gyeong-Ja.

Public Enthusiasm and City Vision

Public reaction to the event has been overwhelmingly positive. Despite being free for anyone aged five and above, tickets for the main concert’s 750-seat venue sold out immediately upon release, underscoring the immense public interest in the global K-Pop phenomenon.

Ha Nam City and the Cultural Foundation view the challenge as more than just a one-off event. They plan to use it as a cornerstone for fostering a sustained global K-Pop network. The initiative is strategically designed to promote Ha Nam City to international K-Pop fans and solidify its image as a cultural center, in preparation for the forthcoming 'K-Star World' project—a major initiative to create a world-class cultural complex in the region.

Ha Nam Mayor Lee Hyun-Jae articulated the city's aspirations, stating, "Through this event, Ha Nam will prove the limitless potential of K-Culture. We are taking a giant leap forward to become South Korea's first 'Global Performance Culture Hub'—a city that people from all over the world will seek out." The 'Global K-Pop Dance Challenge' is poised to be a pivotal moment in Ha Nam’s transformation into a major destination for the international cultural scene.
