- Strengthening Job Stress Management and Continuing Healing Programs

The Gyeongbuk Fire Department provided a time for mental and physical recovery to 70 emergency responders who protect the lives of provincial residents at disaster and accident sites.
The ‘Healing and Recharging’ program was held for two days from the 21st to the 22nd in the Bomun Complex area of Gyeongju. Emergency responders managed stress through aroma scent healing and found physical and mental stability by participating in a concert and yoga.
Emergency responders protect patients' lives on the frontlines of emergency situations. Their work burden is increasing due to the heavy psychological pressure and job stress arising from urgent situations, and in some fields, they even experience physical and verbal violence.

The Fire Department prepared the program, judging that recovery support to protect their mental and physical health is necessary.
Song Yeon-joo, a 20-year veteran emergency responder who participated in the program, said, "Usually in the emergency field, I felt a heavy sense of responsibility and pressure to monitor the patient's condition and prevent it from worsening," adding, "It was meaningful to have time to temporarily step away from work for this 1박 2일 (1-night, 2-day) period to take care of myself and recover."
Sung Ho-seon, Head of the Gyeongbuk Fire Department, said, "Thanks to the dedication and hard work of the emergency responders, we can protect the precious lives of provincial residents. Therefore, the mental and physical health of all 1,280 emergency responders is of utmost importance," and added, "We will continue to listen to the professional difficulties of emergency responders and continuously promote healing programs so that they can properly manage the stress they experience in the field."
